Katherine O. Yarber, 92, passed away Wednesday, January 25, 2012 at Valley Healthcare in Chilhowie, VA.
She was born December 24, 1919 in Washington County, VA and was a daughter of the late John P. and Dora Widner Brown. She lived the entirety of her life in Washington County and was a member of Rosedale Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Don Yarber; a son, William Henry Yarber; a daughter, Peggy Owens; and her daughter-in-law, Vivian Jean Yarber.
Survivors include her five daughters: Monnie Wright and husband Claude of Chatsworth, GA; Pat Bise and husband Tom of Glade Spring; Sue Warren and husband Joe of Glade Spring; Omagine Brewer and husband Ray of Glade Spring, VA; Nancy Chit-Khin and husband Ronnie of Meadowview, VA; fifteen grandchildren; eighteen great- grandchildren and fifteen great-great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service at 8 p.m. on Friday, January 27, 2012 with Dr. Don Paxton officiating.
The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. until the time of the service on Friday.
A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, January 28, 2012 at Rosedale Baptist Church Cemetery . Those wishing to attend the graveside service are asked to assemble at the cemetery by 9:50 a.m. Mrs. Yarber's grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
