Kenneth Dale Hawkins

Mr. Kenneth Dale Hawkins, age 38, passed away Saturday, July 22, 2017. He was born July 26, 1978, in Washington, County, Va. to the late James William Hawkins and the late Polly Helton Hawkins. Kenneth was a 1997 graduate of Patrick Henry High School. He was a loving father and enjoyed playing guitar, hunting, and was a skilled mechanic.

Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his grandparents, Samantha Jane Hawkins, Earnest Willard Hawkins, and Claude Helton and Lillian Belle Helton; and one nephew, James Quinton Moore.

Kenneth is survived by his fiancée, Melinda Rash; son, Justin Dale Hawkins; and daughter, Destiny Hawkins, all of the home. Two brothers, Freddie Hawkins of Kingsport and Wilard Hawkins, of Meadowview; five sisters, Patty Sharon McCoy and husband, Brad of Abingdon, Samantha McCoy and husband, Matthew of South Carolina, Ruth Fee of Myrtle Beach, Alice Price and husband, Christopher of Lebanon, and Patricia Dillard and husband, Nathan of Bristol. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, July 26, 2017, from 6-8 p.m. in the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service. A graveside service will be conducted Thursday, July 27, 2017, at 2 p.m. in the Helton-Hawkins Cemetery, 27300 Yellow Springs Road, Meadowview, Va. 24361, with Paul Price officiating. Pallbearers will be Freddie Hawkins, Dean Whitt, Tony Caudill, Curtis McCoy, Derrick Dickenson, Chris Price, Matthew McCoy, and Robert Gobble. Willard Hawkins will serve as an honorary pall bearer.
