Kimer Jackie Church

Kimer Jackie Church, Jr., age 74,  passed away on July 18, 2024 at Bristol Regional Medical Center. He was born on January 9, 1950, in Grundy, VA, to the late Kimer Jackie Church Sr. and Zola Fletcher Church.

Jackie was a proud alumnus of Grundy High School's Class of 1968 and later graduated from Clinch Valley College with a degree in Mathematics. His career at N&W showcased his commitment and work ethic.

Apart from his professional life, Jackie had a passion for hunting and fishing. These hobbies brought him joy and relaxation.

One of Jackie's proudest accomplishments was serving as an Elder since 1988 and being a dedicated member of the Old Regular Baptist faith. His faith played a significant role in guiding his actions and decisions throughout his life.

In addition to his parents, Jackie was preceded in death by his wife, Sheliah Dotson Church; brothers, Michael Jeffrey Church, and Billy Grey; two nieces, Kimberly Dawn Stacy and Jamie Lou Church Adkins.

Jackie will be dearly missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his brother and sister-in-law, Thomas Keith Church and Jeraldine; another brother and sister-in-law, Dennis Roger Church and Charlotte; his sister and brother-in-law, Kathy Stacy and Ray; as well as his sister Sandra Gail Stacy and a large extended family.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, July 23, 2024, from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Forest Hills Chapel of Farris Funeral Service, 19415 Lee Highway, Abingdon VA. The funeral service will begin at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, July 23, 2024, with Elder William McClanahan and Elder Jerry Matney officiating. The burial will take place at Forest Hills Memory Gardens following the funeral service. Pallbearers will be Dylan Wolford, Mason Rife, Ray Stacy, Terry Dotson, Kippy Dotson and Eddie Dotson.
