Kirby H. Owens

Glade Spring, VA Kirby Herbert Owens, age 57, passed on Sunday, April 24, 2016, in Johnson City Medical Center. He is preceded in death by his sister, Sharon Ann Mullins.

Kirby is survived by his wife of 40 years, Delores Ann Fugate Owens; son, Wesley Owens and fiance Shelly McCune of Glade Spring, VA; daughter, Nikki Deese and husband James of Chilhowie, VA; parents, Jim Wesley Owens and Rose Mary Hale Owens of Damascus, VA; brothers, Randy Owens of Abingdon, VA, Ricky Owens and wife Marge of Damascus, VA, Jimmy Owens of Damascus, VA, and Danny Hale and wife Bridget of Meadowview, VA; sister, Delila Hurd and husband Bobby of Bristol, VA; grandchildren, Matthew, Cassandra, Nicholas, and Chase Barr; and several nieces and nephews.

Visistation with the family will be held 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, April 27, 2016, at the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, in Sunset Memorial Gardens in Damascus, VA with Pastor Dean Smith officiating. Pallbearers will be Matthew Barr, Chase Barr, Nicholas Barr, Charlie Barr, James Deese, and Keith Fugate. Honorary pallbearers will be Kenny Fugate, Aaron Hurd, Bobby Hurd, and Travis Hall. Those wishing to travel in procession to the cemetery are asked to convene at the funeral home before 1:25 p.m. Thursday.
