Landon Joseph Crusenberry, age 89, passed away on Tuesday October 18, 2016 in the Bristol Regional Medical Center. Mr. Crusenberry was a U.S. Navy Veteran of WW II. He retired from American Optical and was co-owner of Wink’s Uniform Center. He was proud to serve in the Wellmont Volunteer Auxiliary and he was a founding member of the Washington Coun ty Volunteer Fire Department. Landon was a faithful member of the Euclid Avenue Baptist Church.
Mr. Crusenberry was preceded in death by his son Michael. He is survived by his loving wife Winifred “Wink” Crusenberry; daughter Janice Simmons, and son, Landon Terry Crusenberry; 6 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren. He is also survived by a special friend, Carl B. Jessee.
A funeral service for Landon Joseph Crusenberry will be held at 7:00 PM on Thursday October 20, 2016 at the Euclid Avenue Baptist Church with Rev. Allen Roberts officiating. Visistation will be from 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM at the church, prior to the service. Interment will be be at 11:00 AM Friday October 21, 2016 at Forest Hills Memory Gardens where military honors will be rendered by the Highlands Veterans Honor Guard and the United States Navy. Friends wanting to attend the interment service are asked to meet at the cemetery by 10:45 AM. Honorary bearers will be Carl Jessee and Don Crusenberry.
