Laquita Ladd Fugate

Laquita J. Ladd Fugate, age 77, of Abingdon, Va., went to be with the Lord on Friday, January 12, 2018, at Johnston Memorial Hospital. She was born August 10, 1940, to the late Louis Clay Ladd and Virginia Pearl Smith Ladd. Laquita was a member of Rosedale Baptist Church and was a devoted housewife and mother.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband of 39 years, Roy S. Fugate.

Laquita is survived by her son, Charlie Fugate, of the home; brother, Preston “Gene” Ladd and wife, Sandra, of Wilmington, N.C.; two nieces, Sherri L. Gray and husband, John, and Tracy Pryor and husband, Jim; nephew, Brian Ladd and wife, Monica; and five great nieces and nephews.

A funeral ceremony will be held at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 16, 2018, at the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service with Dr. Don Paxton and Dr. Carl Young officiating. A committal service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 17, 2018, at Mountain View Cemetery in Bristol, Va. where Arnold Ottinger, Brian Ladd, Gary Wallace, Charles Lewis, George Hearl, and Roger Logan will serve as pallbearers. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 16, 2018, at the funeral home prior to the service.
