Abingdon, VA Larry Alfred Taylor, age 64, passed on Wednesday, June 8, 2016, at Greendale Home for the Aged. Larry was an former employee of Bristol Compressors and loved the outdoors. He is preceded in death by his parents, Alfred Judge Taylor and Kazel Harmon Taylor DeBusk.
He is survived by one son, Larry of Dublin, VA; brother, Joey Taylor and wife Rhonda of Bristol, VA; sister, Judy Ferguson and husband Charlie of Meadowview, VA; niece, Whitney Playl; nephews, Jason Ferguson and Jeremy Ferguson; and special friend, Frances Taylor.
Visitation with the family will be held 4-5 p.m. Saturday, June 11, 2016, at the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service. Funeral services will follow at 5:00 p.m. with Rev. Kenneth Holmes officiating. A graveside committal service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday in Forest Hills Memory Gardens with Jeremy Ferguson, Bill Casey, Mack Salyer, Fred Sutherland, Dayton Harmon, and Ken Holmes, Jr. serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Jason Ferguson, Charlie Ferguson, Bill Price, and J.R. Turnmire. Those wishing to attend the committal are asked to convene at the cemetery by 2:00 p.m.
