Larry Dwayne Brent

Bristol, VALarry Dwayne Brent, age 62, passed away on Tuesday, December 29, 2015, at Bristol Regional Medical Center. He was born in Dearborn, Mich. on August 10, 1953. He was preceded in death by his father, Clayton Howell Brent, Sr.; a brother, Wendell Brent; and special grandmother, Ruby Stallard Brent.He graduated from Southgate High School in Southgate, Mich.. He was employed by Great Lakes Steel in Ecorse, Mich. for several years before moving to Bristol. Upon moving to Bristol, he was employed at the YMCA for 16 years as a masseur. He was a very loving and caring husband, father, son, brother, and grandfather. He was loved by many and will be missed very much.Dwayne is survived by his wife, Sally Brent; two daughters, Alena Pendergrass and husband Mike of Bluff City, Tenn. and Lisa Brent of Bristol, Va.; seven grandchildren, Jamie Nunn, Michael Pendergrass, Christopher Harris, Cadience Harris, Gretchen Harris, Gabral Harris, and Aubrie Harris; mother, Ellen Meredith Brent of Bristol, Tenn.; one sister, Maria DeCroy and husband Douglas of Bristol, Va.; five brothers, Clayton Brent, Jr. and wife Bunny of Punta Gorda, Fla., Robert Brent, Sr. of Bristol, Tenn., Dennis Brent and wife Patricia of Bristol, Va., Curtis Brent, Sr. of Bristol, Tenn., and Christopher Brent of Bristol, Tenn.; several nieces, and nephews; and his loving dog, Bright Eyes.Visitation with the family will be held from 5:00 p.m. 7:00 p.m. Saturday, January 2, 2016, at the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service. A funeral services will follow at 7:00 p.m. with Rev. C.J. Tate officiating. The committal service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, January 3, 2016, in Mt. View Cemetery, Bristol, Va. with family and friends serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be the daughters. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to defray burial expenses.
