Larry W. Bradley died Sunday, November 13, 2011 at Johnston Memorial Hospital following an extended illness.
Larry was always a Marine, a good and fair man with a great smile, who had many friends. He was always active in community and civic affairs. He served on the board of directors of various banks and the Board of Directors of the Gwinnett Co. GA Chamber of Commerce where he played a leading role in the development of Gwinnett County. Larry was active in the Republican Party. He took great pleasure in the successes of his children, siblings, nieces and nephews. Larry was a true people lover and was loved in return. He will be missed and always remembered.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Glen Wallace and Lucille Pickle Bradley and his best buddy, "Simon the cat."
Survivors include his loving wife, Carol Totten Bradley; one daughter, Leisa Bradley Gruenewald and her husband, Bruce of Falls Church, VA; one son, John Totten Bradley and his wife, Mary Pomeroy of Knoxville, TN; one grandson, Alexander James Gruenewald of Falls Church; two brothers, Don Bradley and his wife Jenny of Roanoke, VA, and Mickey Bradley and his wife, Alice of Knoxville, TN; four sisters, Baja Conrad and her husband, Ellison of Abingdon, Alice Porterfield and her husband, Sonny of Abingdon, Monna Hortenstine and her husband, Joel of Norcross, GA, and Dottie Davis and her husband, Jerry of Abingdon; numerous nieces and nephews and their children.
Funeral services for Larry W. Bradley will be held at 1 pm, Wednesday, November 16, 2011 at the Forest Hills Chapel of Farris Funeral Service with Rev. Dr. Steven Pollard officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Hills Memory Gardens. Pallbearers will be David Bradley, Jeff Johnson, Jay Johnson, Stuart Porterfield, Andrew Hortenstine, and Matthew Davis. Honorary pallbearers will be Joseph Bradley and Daniel Bradley.
The family will receive friends from 12 noon until the time of the service on Wednesday.
