Lee Roy Davis

Abingdon, VA Lee Roy Davis, age 93, passed away on Friday, January 2, 2015 at Johnston Memorial Hospital. He was a farmer who worked in construction throughout his life. He was of the Christian faith. He was born to the late George W. Davis and Julia Lear Wise Davis on February 20, 1921. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife of 35 years, Roberta Fields Davis; son, Curtis Davis; grandson, Randy Lee Gray; and seven siblings. He is survived by six children: Jane Gray of the home; Vernon Davis; Joanne Rock and husband Danny; Sue Luttrell and husband John; and Maebelle Garland, all of Abingdon, VA; and Jackie Puckett and husband Danny of Bristol, VA; nine grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Sunday, January 4, 2015 at the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service. A funeral service will be held at 8:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home with Bro. Daniel Hoss officiating. Family and friends will meet at 2:00 p.m. Monday, January 5 at Knollkreg Memorial Park for a committal service with Pastor Kirby Miller officiating. Brent Barrett, Trey Barrett, Tommy Garland, John Luttrell, Tony Luttrell, and Everette White will serve as pallbearers. Bill Gray, Sr., Bill Gray, Jr., and Caleb Gray will serve as honorary pallbearers.
