Leo W. Poisson

Mr. Leo W. Poisson, 98, died October 25, 2013 of natural causes at Abingdon Health and Rehab Center. Mr. Poisson was born August 16, 1915 in Acushnet, MA. He was the son of Wallace Poisson and Joanna Ferron Poisson Mercier. He is survived by son, Michael Poisson, wife Krista, and grandson Gregory of Abingdon, VA; sister, Theresa Mercier Faria of Florida and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents and three sisters, he was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Frances Bessette Poisson.

A veteran of World War II, he was a lifelong employee of American Optical Corporation and The Optical Shop of New Bedford, MA. He was a member of American Legion Post 166 of Fairhaven, MA and was a DAV Member of Post Dr. C.E. Burt Chapter #7 of New Bedford, MA. He was an avid sports fan and collector of 0 gauge toy trains.
