Mr. Lewis “Lew” Sharswood Harvey III, 72, of Meadowview passed away Friday, June 30, 2017, at his home. He was preceded in death by his parents Lewis S. Harvey and Alice Masson Harvey.
Lewis was a United States Marine, serving in the Vietnam War. He served for 27 years as an officer with the Baltimore County Maryland Police Department. Lewis worked also worked for General Dynamics and Bristol Compressors after moving to Virginia. Mr. Harvey was a member of The Fraternal Order of Police, GWRRA Chapter H, Abingdon, Va., and the Blue Knights Chapter 6 of Johnson City, TN.
Lewis is survived by his loving wife of twenty-nine years, Retha Tate Harvey; his son, Lewis Harvey, IV and wife, Jennifer and his granddaughter, Karleighana all of Baltimore, Md.; step-son, Randy Nevens and wife, Cindy of Kansas City, Kan.; sisters, Barbara Porter of Baltimore, Md. and Frances Ross of Monroe, MI.; numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
A visitation will be Sunday, July 2, 2017 from 2-6 p.m. at the home of Mr. Harvey, 13470 Glenbrook Ave. Meadowview, VA. Visitors are also welcome at any other time.
