Abingdon, Va. – Lillian Jacqueline (Jackie) Church Colley, age 67, passed away at her home on Monday, April 26, 2021. She was born April 14, 1954 in Vansant, Buchanan County, Virginia to the late Elmer and Tonnie Church. She graduated from Grundy High School in 1972 and was employed by several different companies throughout her lifetime, the last being Home Nursing Co. of Lebanon, Virginia.
Jackie moved to Abingdon in 1983; in 1995, she married Lee Colley and moved to Tazewell County, Virginia. After the passing of her father, Jackie and Lee moved to Abingdon to be beside her sister Polly, who cared for Jackie until she passed away peacefully at home this past Monday, April 26.
In addition to her parents, Jackie was preceded in death by her husband, Lee Colley; brothers, Elmer Church, Jr., and William A. Church; sisters, Tonnie Marie Church, and Mary Ruth Colley.
Left to cherish her memory are her three sisters, Margie Buchanan and husband Harold of Roanoke, Virginia, Rebecca Robinson and husband Terry of Texarkana, Arkansas, and her long-term caregiver/best friend/sister, Polly Church of Abingdon, Virginia; beloved sister-in-law, Clara Church; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The family will receive friends and loved ones on Friday, April 30, 2021, from 6:00 PM until 7:00 PM, at the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service (427 East Main Street, Abingdon, VA 24210). A funeral service will be conducted at 2:30 PM, on Saturday, May 1, 2021, in the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service, with Minister Charlie Church officiating. A committal service will follow at Forest Hills Memory Gardens (19415 Lee Highway, Abingdon, VA 24210). Covid-19 guidelines will be observed.
