Linda Daniel Smith, age 73, passed away on Saturday August 19, 2017 in Johnston Memorial Hospital. She was a native of Alabama, and had lived in the Wise, Va. area for a number of years with her late husband Frank C. Smith. She attended the Norton Presbyterian Church. Linda will always be remembered as a fervent Auburn War Eagle Fan.
Linda was predeceased by her late husband Frank, parents Clell H. and Eleanor Mize Daniel, and sister Martha Cordes. She is survived by sons Richard Smith and wife Gayle of Glade Spring, VA.; with whom, she lived for the past few months, and Todd Smith and wife Gina of Keyport, NJ; step sons Smitty Smith and wife Ricki of The Breaks, VA, and William Smith of Albertville, AL; step daughter Patti Lawson and her daughter Amanda of Knoxville, TN; grandchildren Joshua, Daniel, Jennifer, Alexander, Lincoln, Olivia, Jackson, Weston and Emma Smith; great grandson Jude Lawson.
Memorial services for Linda will be scheduled at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to a church or charity of one’s choice.
