Clinchburg, VA Lockie Velma Grady Blankenship, age 88, passed on Wednesday, June 18, 2014, at Abingdon Health & Rehab Center. Lockie lived all of her life in the Clinchburg area and served as the Postmaster for the Clinchburg Post Office for many years before retiring from the U.S. Postal Service. Mrs. Blankenship was a faithful member of Mahanaim United Methodist Church. Lockie was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who loved flowers and gardening. She is preceded in death by her parents, John C. Grady and Delia Mae Johnson; her husband of 53 years, Herbert W. Blankenship; four brothers, John C. Grady, Cecil Grady, David Grady and Virgil Grady; and one sister, Regina Blankenship. She is survived by her son, Gerald Blankenship and wife Marie of Glade Spring, VA; daughter, Debbie Rolen of Pulaski, VA; brothers, Lionel Grady of Kingsport, TN, Charles Henry Grady of Bristol, VA, and Derwood Grady and wife Pat of Knoxville, TN; sisters, Agnes Farris of Abingdon, VA, Bonnie Ratcliff and husband Jim of Saltville, VA, Laurel Chapman of Saltville, VA, Ruby Henderson and husband Arthur of Bristol, VA, and Edith Rector and husband C.W. of Clinchburg, VA; three grandchildren, Jennifer Larsen and husband Mark of Abingdon, VA, Dr. Michael Rolen of New Haven, CT, and Lindsay Lundy and husband Shaun of Glade Spring, VA; one great-granddaughter, Callie Marie Lundy; special friend, Walter Moore; and several nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, June 21, 2014, at Forest Hills Memory Gardens with Rev. Larry Lusk and Rev. Scott Spence officiating. Pallbearers will be Shaun Lundy, Bobby Hammond, Rick Hammond, Craig Hammond, Mark Larsen, and Sam Shaffer. Family and friends are asked to convene at the cemetery by 11:00 a.m. There will be no visitation. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Mahanaim United Methodist Church, P.O.
