Mr. Lois Brown Turley, age 94, passed away on Wednesday, January 1, 2014 at his home. He was born to the late James Edward Turley and Bessie Rhudy Turley on September 28, 1919. He was a charter member of Rich Valley Methodist Church and a World War II veteran of the United States Army.
In addition to his parents, Lois was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Lois Warren Turley.
He is survived by two sons, D. Glenn Turley and wife Brenda of Richmond, VA and Wayne E. Turley and wife Laryssa of Abingdon, VA; two daughters, Regina T. Naff and husband Ronnie of Shawsville, VA and Martha T. Moody and husband Jim of Destin, FL; brother, Carl Turley of Richmond, VA; sister, Muriel Bailey of Abingdon, VA; two grandchildren, Mark Moses and Montana Turley; and one great granddaughter, Hadley Moses.
Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Friday, January 3, 2014 at the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, January 4th at the funeral home with the Reverend Mark B. McFadden officiating. Family and friends will travel in procession to Mountain View Baptist Cemetery where Rick Korell, Mark Moses, Wiley Price, Mike Reynolds, Jeff Thomas, Steve Turley, Tony Turley, and Kenneth Worley will serve as pallbearers.
