Lois Webster Maiden, age 92, passed away on Saturday, January 5, 2013 at Johnston Memorial Hospital. She was a member Abingdon Baptist Church and retired from the Meat Department at Piggly Wiggly after several years.
She was born to the late Elmer Alonza Webster, Sr. and Sue Letitia Hagy Webster in Washington County, VA on February 8, 1920. She is also preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Charles Lee Maiden, Sr.; and two brothers, Elmer Alonza Webster, Jr. and William Lee Webster.
She is survived by her son, Charles Lee Maiden, Jr. and wife Doris of Abingdon, VA; one grandchild, Susan Letitia "Tisha" Sipe and husband John of Gainesville, VA; and two great grandchildren, Jackson Charles Sipe and Cooper Wood Sipe.
Visitation will be from 1:00-2:00 p.m., Monday, January 7, 2013 at the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service with a funeral service to follow at 2:00 p.m., Monday with the Reverend Doctor Steven Pollard officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Hills Memory Gardens where Rob Campbell, John Crigger, Jerry Forrester, Hunter Land, Jerry Price, and Charlie Warren will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Buddy Carrier, J.F. Cook, John Deadmore, Bert Mullins, and her former Sunday School Class at Abingdon Baptist Church.
