Lt. Col. Lades R. Warriner III, 85, passed on Tuesday, September 4, 2018. Lades was born on November 10, 1932, in Darlington, South Carolina, to the late Lades R. Warriner II and the late Rachel Fulton Warriner.
He graduated from Clemson in 1955 with a degree in Engineering. He retired from the US Army Corp of Engineers after 20 years of service as a Lieutenant Colonel. His service included tours in Korea, Ethiopia and Vietnam (2). He retired from The Daniels Company after 19 years in 1994 as a construction engineer.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Penn M. Warriner. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Charlotte Hagy Warriner; sons Dirk Alan Warriner and wife, Amy of Greensboro, North Carolina; and Bart Andrew Warriner and wife, Lisa of Greenville, South Carolina; and grandchildren: Russell Warriner, Rachel Warriner Sadlik and husband, Matt, Richard Warriner, Ruth Warriner, Luke Warriner, Lindsay Warriner and Max Warriner.
The service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, September 15, 2018, in the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service with Rev. John Thrasher and Joe Johnson officiating. Visitation will follow the service. Military honors will be conducted by the Virginia Army National Guard.
