Lundy Harold Stiltner, age 86, passed away on Sunday May 7, 2017 at Johnston Memorial Hospital. Lundy was a native of Grundy, but had lived in Abingdon for the past 25 years. He was a member of Central Baptist Church and was a retired coal miner. Lundy loved the outdoors and often took his sons fishing and hunting. He had experienced many health problems over the past 30 years but those did not dampen his love for his family nor his desire to be active.
Lundy was predeceased by his parents Roy and Lydia Stacy Stiltner, 7 brothers and a sister. He is survived by his wife of 67years Loretta Castle Stiltner; sons Gary Stiltner and wife Jennifer of Abingdon, Jimmy Stiltner and wife Kathy of Pilgims Knob, VA; daughters Debbie Calhoun and husband Brian of Blacksburg, VA and Cindy Daugherty and husband Roger of Abingdon; grandchildren Tony Stiltner, J.R. Stiltner, Suzanne Stiltner, Penny Presley, Jill Horne, Isaac Stiltner, Lyndsi Calhoun, Nathaniel Calhoun, Chelsa Taylor, and Kiran Daugherty; 11 great grandchildren.
A funeral service for Lundy Harold Stiltner will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday May 12, 2017 at the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service with Pastor Les Ketron and Rev. Jerry Eggers officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Hills Memory Gardens where Tony Stiltner, J.R. Stiltner, Kyle Stiltner, Damon Presley, Scotty Horne, Isaac Stiltner, Nathaniel Calhoun, Nate Taylor, Kiran Daugherty, reid Stiltner, Clay Burks, and Darrell Cantrell will serve as casket bearers. The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 PM at the funeral home on Thursday May 11, 2017.
