Maggie Mullins Matney

Abingdon, VA – Maggie Mullins Matney, age 76, passed on Thursday, March 26, 2015, at her home. Maggie was born in Paynesville, WV to the late Walker Mullins and Oma Allen Mullins. She was a strong believer in Christ and a member of Souls Harbor Church. Maggie was a loving mother and grandmother and will be missed by all who knew her. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her ex-husband, Perry Matney, and brother, Adison Mullins. She is survived by four children, Donald Ray (Rita) Matney of Abingdon, VA; Ronald (Teresa) Matney of Abingdon, VA; Ted (Tricia) Matney of Abingdon, VA; and Linda (Randall) Smith of Roswell, GA; sisters, Peggy Wagner, Media Blevins, Macie Sessions, Lucille Mullins, and Dacie Stacy; brothers, Acie Mullins, Doliver Mullins and Oliver Mullins; special sisters-in-law, Josephine Mullins, Gracie Daniels, Josephine Matney and Crystal Mullins; grandchildren, Brandon (Tara) Matney, Keisha (Sam) Taylor, Misty (Matt) Echols, Jason Matney, Nevaeh Grace Matney, Bridget Elswick, and Ross Smith; great-grandchildren, Katie Williams, Sydney Williams, Braxton Taylor, Kaleb Taylor, Abby Taylor, Madeline Taylor, Brooke Taylor, Elizabeth Echols, Scout Echols, Lilly Mae Matney, Dalton Junior Blankenship, and Tanner Cain Hayden; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation with the family will be held from 6:30-9:00 p.m. Saturday, March 28, 2015, at Souls Harbor Church, 375 Bonham Road, Bristol, VA. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. Sunday, March 29, 2015 at the church with Pastor Dean Livingston officiating. Interment will follow at 2:30 p.m. in Green Hills Memorial Gardens Mausoleum in Claypool Hill, VA. Pallbearers will be Misty Echols, Keisha Taylor, Bridget Elswick, Neveah Grace Matney, Brandon Matney, Jason Matney, Ross Smith, Matt Echols, Sam Taylor, Jerry Mullins, and Tony Sessions. Honorary pallbearers will be Roger Stacy, Vic Sessions, Dickie Chaney, and Eugene Anderson.
