Margaret "Peggy" Hicks, age 85, of Glade Spring, Virginia, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, February 11, 2012. She was the daughter of the late Marvin and Elizabeth Goodman Blevins of Marion, Virginia.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Irvin C. Hicks; daughter, Janet Sue Heishman, and great-grandson, Daniel Hughes.
She is survived by a son, Ronald E. Hicks (Connie) of Abingdon, Virginia, and a daughter, Diana Roark ( Doug) of Bluff City, Tennessee; five grandchildren, Erica Cuskey (Cam) Virginia Beach, Virginia; Aaron Hicks (Nikki), Abingdon, Virginia; Brandon Roark, Bristol, Tennessee; Kristin Hughes (Michael), Bluff
City, Tennessee; and Cover Heishman (Chelsea), Harrisonburg, Virginia; five great grandchildren, Quinn Cuskey, Logan Cuskey, Tristan Hicks, Kara Roark, and Isabella Hughes; one sister, Gladys Shaffer, Marion, Virginia; and three brothers, James Blevins, Arkansas; Thomas Blevins and Artie Blevins, Marion, Virginia; and son-in-law, Bill Heishman, Stuarts Draft, Virginia.
The family would like to thank Dr. Jennifer Jonkers, Dr. Ernest Henry, the entire staff at the FMC Dialysis Center, Abingdon, Virginia; the Smyth County, Virginia, Ambulance Service; and Hospice of Southwest Virginia, for the care of their mother.
There will be no visitation. A graveside service will be conducted at 10:00A.M., Tuesday, February 14, 2012 at Mt. Rose Cemetery in Glade Spring, Virginia, with Pastor Chad Johnson officiating. Those wishing to attend the service are asked to meet at the cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the National Kidney Foundation, Regional Office, 1742 East Parham Road, Richmond, VA 23228-2202
