Margaret McNew Sharrett Walsh

Bristol, VA Margaret McNew Sharrett Walsh, age 93, passed on Tuesday, February 03, 2015, at Wellmont Hospice House. Margaret was born in Saltville, VA to the late Will McNew and Minnie Martha Gilley McNew and lived in Washington County her entire life. She was a loyal servant of God and a member of First Assembly of God in Bristol for over 40 years. Margaret was friendly to all and never met a stranger. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Marvin W. Walsh; three brothers; four sisters; and son-in-law, Jim Spearry. Margaret is survived by two daughters, Barbara Keller and husband Jack of Bluff City, TN, and Sharon Sharrett Spearry of Omaha, NE; one son, Randall W. Sharrett of Bristol, VA; three sisters, Okie Litton of Meadowview, VA, June McCray of Bristol, TN, and Reba McCray of Saltville, VA; four grandchildren, Lori Blevins, Sonya Jones, Jason Spearry, and Jessica Spearry Ropski; and four great-grandchildren, Lauren Sakaniwa, Tyler Jones, Christopher Jones, and Leann Thompson. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, February 5, 2015, at the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service with Pastor Jeff Carico and Pastor Sam Haynes officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Hills Memory Gardens with family and friends serving as pallbearers. Visitation with the family will be held 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
