Margaret Osborne Orr

Abingdon, VA – Margaret Osborne Orr, age 92, arrived in her Heavenly home on Saturday, October 16, 2021, at Ballad Hospice House.  Margaret was a graduate of Glade Spring High School and retired from Superior Mills in Chilhowie, VA.  She was a faithful member of Old Glade Presbyterian Church.  Margaret especially loved to spend time with family and friends.  She will be deeply missed by all those she met through the years. 

Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, Claude and Stella Rhudy Osborne; husband, Lawrence Edward Orr; 14 siblings; and son-in-law, Robert C. Donaldson. 

She is survived by two loving daughters, Lydia Landis and Bina (Dale) Phipps, both of Abingdon, VA; three special great granddaughters of the home; Kymberlin, Cheyanne, and Sydnee; five grandchildren, Gus Wild, Margie Driver, Lauren Wild, Mac Phipps, and Amy Button; 12 great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; special long-time caregiver, Becky Lunsford; and numerous nieces and nephews. 

A private graveside service will be held for the immediate family at Old Glade Presbyterian Cemetery with Rev. Tim Bird officiating.  A celebration of Margaret’s life will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, May 7, 2022, in Old Glade Presbyterian Church with Rev. Tim Bird officiating.
