Marie Kennedy McReynolds

Abingdon, VA - Marie Kennedy McReynolds of the Wyndale Community was born in Clinchco, VA on May 11, 1929. Her time on this earth as "Mom," "Mammaw," "Sis," wife to Charlie, and friend to so many who loved her, was fulfilled on July 4, 2016. Her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were her greatest joy and pleasure. Her biscuits at many big family breakfasts will never be matched; her enjoyment of making them for those she loved, never forgotten. From banana pudding to cornbread, to her special canned green beans, she made everyone who came into her kitchen feel as if she made them especially for them. Marie was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie, and is survived by her son, Dennis amd wife Susan of Cuero, TX, and daughter, Brenda McArdle amd husband Terry of Silver Spring, MD, Dennis's sons, Brian, Joe, and Dennis, Jr., and Brenda's children, Tamara Wilkinson, Kevin Thompson, and Vandi Marquez. Marie is blessed with twelve great-grandchildren. Marie is the last child of her late parents, Elmer and Fannie Dee Kennedy, to join the family circle in heaven. Her two brothers, Paul and Hubert Kennedy, and four sisters, Ethel Adkins, Clarice Collins, Sarah Campbell, and Pauline Dingus were waiting for her to make the circle complete. Visitation with the family will be held 6-8 p.m. Thursday, July 7, 2016, at the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, with Pastor Gary Harless officiating. Interment will follow at 1:30 p.m. in Temple Hill Memorial Park with Brian McReynolds, Joe McReynolds, Dennis McReynolds, Jr., Kevin Thompson, Joaquin Marquez, and Dave Wilkinson serving as pallbearers. Those wishing to attend the interment are asked to meet at the cemetery by 1:30 p.m.
