Marguerette Emmering, age 87, passed away on Tuesday, May 8, 2012 at Johnson City Medical Center.
She is preceded in death by her adoptive father, John Farner. She is also preceded in death by her husband of 39 years, John Henry Emmering; and one daughter, Carole Untinen.
She is survived by one son, John Emmering and wife Chyrl of Sugar Land, Texas; one daughter, Julia Brown and husband Keith of Abingdon, Virginia; son-in-law, William Untinen of Bartlett, Illinois; two sisters, Jane Seabolt of Carol Stream, Illinois and Leora Urban of Orange, California; and four grandchildren, Quinn Emmering, Colby Emmering, Bryan Untinen, and Wendy Brown.
A memorial service will be held at 5:00 p.m., Saturday, May 12, 2012 at the Forest Hills Chapel of Farris Funeral Service, 19415 Lee Highway, Abingdon, Virginia 24210. Visitation with the family will be from 4:00 p.m.-5:00 p.m. at the Forest Hills Chapel. Honorary pallbearers will be John Emmering, Quinn Emmering and Colby Emmering, Bryan Untinen, Bryan Lockhart, and Randy Parker. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 246, Abingdon, Virginia 24211.
