Marvin Deward Clear, Jr.

Meadowview, VA - Marvin Deward Clear, Jr., age 77, passed away Tuesday, February 10, 2015, at Johnston Memorial Hospital. Deward retired from Kern’s Bakery and attended Highlands Fellowship Church. He was an avid outdoorsman, farmer, and loved to coon hunt. He is preceded in death by his wife, Peggy Sue Stevens Clear; son, Johnny Ray Clear; infant daughter, Freda Fay Clear; and parents, Marvin Deward Clear, Sr. and Gladys Mabel Wagner Clear. Deward is survived by two daughters, Rita Keesee and husband Danny of Petersburg, VA and Angela Maye of Meadowview, VA; sister, Margaret Jackson of Abingdon, VA; grandchildren, Suzanne Clear, Amy Clear, Robby Walden, Jonathan Maye, Joshua Maye, David Maye, and Matthew Clear; several great grandchildren; aunts, Jual Wagner of Maryland and Evelyn Browning of Abingdon, VA; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Visitation with the family will be held 1-3 p.m. Saturday, February 14, 2015, at the Forest Hills Chapel of Farris Funeral Service, 19415 Lee Highway, Abingdon, VA. A funeral service will follow at 3 p.m. with Pastor Curtis Johnson officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Hills Memory Gardens with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
