Abingdon, VA – Mary Ann Hagy Tate, age 81, passed on Friday, January 28, 2022, at Commonwealth Senior Living. Ann was a lifelong resident of Abingdon and a graduate of Cleveland High School. She was a lifetime member of Pleasant View United Methodist Church and Loved Jesus, her husband, and her family. Ann enjoyed camping and traveling with her family as well as showing horses.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Mary Ellen Smith Hagy; and nephew, Todd Kiser.
Ann is survived by her husband of 60 years, Marvin Tate; daughter, Rhonda Neeley and husband Sam of Abingdon, VA; granddaughter, Katie Millard and husband Adam of Raleigh, NC; sister, Patty Kiser and husband Dickie of Abingdon, VA; brother, Donald Hagy and wife Pat of Abingdon, VA; and an expected great granddaughter.
Due to unexpected family illness, the visitation and funeral are cancelled. Interment will be private in Mountain View Cemetery,1019 Valley Drive, Bristol, VA. Rev. Dale Gilbert, Rev. Barbara Farmer, Rev. Jack Sprinkle will officiating. Honorary pallbearers will be Marty Large, Steve Greer, Mike Hagy, Ken Sauls, George Hornady, Brack Slate, Johnny Thompson, Darius Johnson, Bob Duncan, and Randy Smith.
The family would like to extend special thanks to Caris Hospice and to Commonwealth Senior Living for treating them like family.
