Mrs. Mary B. Brady, age 90, passed away Thursday, July 14, 2011, at her home. She was born in West Virginia, daughter of the late Clyde Sherwood and Laura Martha Bridges Sherwood. She had been a resident of the Abingdon area since 1976, moving from Grayson County, Virginia. She was a member of For Zion's Sake Ministries Messianic congregation in Bristol, TN. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Brady was preceded in death by her husband, Harry P. Brady.
She is survived by her daughters, Barbara Kay Waters and Sandra Gay Marvin, both of Abingdon; two sisters, June Cardwell of Charleston, WV, and Luggie Wagner of Burlington, NC; eleven grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren, and four great-great grandchildren.
The funeral service for Mary B. Brady will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, July 17, 2011, at the Brady Family Cemetery. Rabbi Joseph Bell will officiate, and grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Those wishing to attend the service are invited to meet at the funeral home on Sunday by 1:15 PM for a procession to the cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, July 16, 2011, from 6:00 PM 9:00 PM at the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to For Zion's Sake Ministries, 740 Fifth Street, Suite 12, Bristol, TN 37620.
The family would like to offer special thanks to Caris Hospice, Health South Rehabilitation, and Wellmont Bristol Regional Medical Center.
