Mrs. Mary Christine Barrett Humphrey, 74, passed away on Wednesday, May 10, 2017 at her home. She was a native of Washington County, Virginia, and had lived in Pennsylvania for 44 years prior to moving to Alabama ten years ago. She had attended Meadowview Pentacostal Holiness Church prior to moving to Pennsylvania.
Mary was known for her delicious cooking, especially her meat loaf, lasagna and crab cakes. She was loving, caring, accepting and humble, always placing everyone else above herself. She was deeply loved and will be missed greatly.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph Barrett and Kathleen Shortt Barrett; her son Tracy Humphrey, and daughter Treva Humphrey-Dillow.
Mary is survived by her husband Kermit Humphrey; sons Travis Humphrey and wife Lori of Pine Grove, Penn., and Trevor Humphrey and wife Jennifer of Salem, Ala.; brother Franklin Barrett of Meadowview; sisters Opal Ball of Johnson City, Tenn., and Regina Cumbow of Abingdon; nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
The funeral service for Mary Christine Barrett Humphrey will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, May 14, 2017, in the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service with the Pastor David Barrett officiating. Burial will follow in Old Glade Presbyterian Church Cemetery where family and friends will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Saturday, May 13, 2017, at the funeral home.
