Mary Elizabeth Blackwell Holley

Meadowview, VA- Mary Elizabeth Blackwell Holley, age 100, passed on Tuesday, February 15, 2022, in Valley Rehabilitation and Nursing Center. Mrs. Holley was born in Spotsylvania County, VA and moved to Washington County as a young adult after meeting her late husband, Dallas Earl Holley. She was a school teacher for Washington County, VA and a member of Blackwell Chapel United Methodist Church.

In addition to her husband, Mrs. Holley was preceded in death by her parents, Sanders Blackwell, Sr. and Mae Garland Blackwell; son, David Edward Holley; five brothers; and four sisters.

Mrs. Holley is survived by her son, Gary Holley and wife Glenna of Chilhowie, VA; brother, Jimmy Blackwell of Richmond, VA; sister, Grace Paxton of Richmond, VA; grandson, Christopher Holley and wife Kayla and great granddaughter, Magnolia Kate Holley of Kingsport, TN; special niece, Carole Garland; special friend and caregiver, Donna Perkins; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Friday, February 18, 2022, in the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service with Rev. Lisa Bryant officiating. Interment will follow in Knollkreg Memorial Park. Visitation with the family will begin one hour prior to the service. The family requests that attendees wear masks due to health concerns.
