Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Smith Wyatt, age 68, passed away at her home in Glade Spring on Friday afternoon; February 8, 2013. Mrs. Wyatt was born in Tazewell, VA, and moved to Florida in her early adult years. She attended Southeastern University in Lakeland, FL. In 1999, Mrs. Wyatt returned "home" to Glade Spring. She was a member of the First Assembly of God in Abingdon and worked at W-L Construction for 12 years. Family members take great joy in remembering her smile, and her sweet and spunky nature. She loved life and the outdoors, and her sister and niece laugh when remembering her love of sledding in the snow after the age of 60!

Mrs. Wyatt is survived by her husband, John Wyatt of Glade Spring. She is also survived by brothers: Carl (Della) Smith of Glade Spring and Joseph (Darlene) Smith of Bristol, VA. Sisters: Nola (William) Spann of Glade Spring, Margaret (Johnie) French of Tazewell, VA, and Phyllis White of Cedar Bluff, VA. Step Daughters: Cathy (Tony) Rector of Glade Spring, VA, Nancy (Earl) Looney of Glade Spring, VA, and Rosa (Ray) Price of Rural Retreat, VA. Mrs. Wyatt is also survived by special niece and nephew Linda and Lee Stull of Glade Spring and sister-in-law Mary Ellen Smith of North Tazewell, VA. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive.

Mrs. Wyatt was preceded in death by her parents George W. Smith and Amanda Polly Smith. She was also preceded in death by brothers: Thomas and Kenneth Smith and sisters Dorothy and Vertie Mae Smith.

A funeral service of remembrance for Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Smith Wyatt will be held at 7:00 P.M., Monday, February 11, 2013 at the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service with Pastor Roger Williams and Pastor William Spann officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00 - 7:00 P.M. Monday just prior to the service at Farris Funeral Service. Interment will follow at 12:00 P.M. Tuesday at Grandview Memory Gardens in Bluefield, VA. Those wishing to attend the interment are asked to meet at the cemetery by 12:00 P.M. on Tuesday.

The family would like to gratefully thank Russell County Hospice along with nurses Amber and Kim, Glade Spring Medical Clinic, Dr. Pote and Cathy for the care shown Mrs. Wyatt during her time of illness.
