Mary Elizabeth Talbot Dowe

Bristol, VA Mary Elizabeth Dowe, age 98, peacefully passed away at her home on Saturday June 13, 2015. She was a native of Portsmouth, VA, where she was a proud graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School. Mary served her family by being a homemaker for most of her life. She was a member of the First Assembly of God, Bristol, VA. Mary was predeceased by her husband Edward Marvin Dowe; her parents James and Rozelia Talbot; her daughter Rose Marie Smith; and 12 siblings. She is survived by her son Wayne Dowe and wife Judy of Bristol, VA; six grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. A funeral service for Mary Elizabeth Dowe will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Friday June 19, 2015, at the Forest Hills Chapel of Farris Funeral Service, 19415 Lee Highway, Abingdon, VA, with Pastor Jeff Carico officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Hills Memory Gardens, and casket bearers will be selected from family and friends. The family will receive friends at the chapel from noon – 2:00 pm prior to the service.
