Mary Ethel Fain

Mary Ethel Fain, 95, of Damascus, Va., passed away on Saturday, September 7, 2019, at Grace Healthcare.  She will be remembered as a devoted wife and mother to ten children. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lemuel Sanford Fain, Sr.; three children, Ruth Horne, Dave Fain, and Lemuel Sanford Fain, Jr.; two grandsons, Dale Trivette and Doug Trivette; granddaughter, Robin Fain; and several siblings. 

Mary is survived by seven children: Susan Gentry; Robert Fain and wife Sue; Helen Gentry and husband Dean; Rose Sheets and husband Jerry; Steven Fain; John Fain; and Angela Hanshaw; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.

A funeral ceremony will be held on Thursday, September 12, 2019, at 7:00 p.m. at the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service with the Rev. Jerry A. Eggers officiating. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 5:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m. prior to the service. A committal service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, September 13, 2019, at Greendale Chapel Cemetery, Rich Valley Road, Abingdon, VA.  Honorary pallbearers will be grandsons and great grandsons. Those wishing to attend the service should meet at the cemetery by 10:50 a.m.
