Mary Tuell Bowers

Bristol, VA- Mary Tuell Bowers, age 81, went to join our Lord on Wednesday, May 28, 2014 at Johnston Memorial Hospital. She will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, and wife. She was a member of Maple Grove Presbyterian Church and attended Wyndale United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Floyd and Gladys Tuell; husband of 58 years, Ralph Hanes “Willie” Bowers; four brothers, Ralph, Roy, Haines, and Dent Tuell; son-in-law, Robert Daniel Whicker; and grandson, Dalton Allen Amos. She is survived by her daughter, Cathy Bowers Whicker of Bristol, VA; three sisters, Margaret Clennenden, Floye Tester and husband Roy, and Gaye Able and husband Bill all of Bristol, VA; two granddaughters, Danielle McCrady and husband Kris and Ashley Amos and boyfriend Jaime Dales all of Abingdon, VA; two step granddaughters, Candy Hendry and husband Jeff of Bristol, TN and Brandy Toncray and husband Chip of Elizabethton, TN; two great grandchildren, Elliott Amos and Brennan Dales; and family friend, Sandy Sells. Visitation will be from 2:00p.m.-3:00 p.m. Sunday, June 1, 2014 in the mausoleum at Mountain View Cemetery in Bristol, VA. A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday in the mausoleum with Pastor Stephen Talbert officiating. Butch Bowers, Wayne “Crick” Davidson, Jaime Dales, Richard Dickenson, and Kris McCrady will serve as honorary pallbearers. Flowers will be accepted.
