Matthew Brian Jones

Matthew Brian Jones, age 43, went home to be with his Savior on Sunday, April 7, 2013. Matt was born on April 23, 1970 the youngest son of Butch and Peggy Jones. He was an outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting and gardening.

He was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Cornelius Blankenship; and both sets of grandparents.

In addition to his parents he is survived by his wife, Trish Jones; two sons, Josh Jones and wife Amber and Jacob "Boo Boo" Jones and wife Ashley all of Blountville, TN; brother, Dave Jones and wife Marcella of Abingdon, VA; sister, DeLana Jones of Abingdon, VA; four very beautiful granddaughters, Isabella, Trinity, Ollie, and Rhylan; three nieces, Tiffany Jones, Allison Patrick and Alexis Patrick all of Abingdon, VA; two nephews, Andrew Jones and wife Kelsey of Abingdon, VA and Christian Montgomery of Roan Mountain, TN; mother-in-law, Lydia Blankenship of Lebanon, VA; sister-in-law, Drema Morris and husband Geoff of Roan Mountain, TN; several uncles and aunts; and very special friends, Kenneth and Eileen Long.

The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 9, 2013 at the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service. A funeral service will be held at 8:00 p.m., Tuesday at the funeral home with Reverend Kenny Fields and Reverend Adam Wise officiating. A committal service will be held at 3:00 p.m., Wednesday at Forest Hills Memory Gardens where "Dude" Bowman, Josh Fields, Mike Hearl, Andrew Jones, Dave Jones, Jacob Jones, Josh Jones, and Daniel Nunley will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Johnny Jones, Keith Nunley, and Randy Wooten. Those wishing to travel in procession to the cemetery are asked to gather at the funeral home by 2:30 p.m., Wednesday.
