Maye Jackson Davis, age 94, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, May 19, 2010 at her home.
She was preceded in death by her husband Boyd Tracy Davis and her parents Alex and Matilda Street Jackson. She was the oldest living member of Rosedale Baptist Church where she served as the Women's Missionary Union Leader, taught Sunday School and Bible School. Maye was a kind, sweet, Godly lady.
Survivors include two sons, Charles Davis, Abingdon, John Davis of WV; one daughter, Linda Trusty, Lakeland FL; one foster daughter, Christy Herrmann, GA; two brothers, Earl Jackson, Mavis Dale, VA and Ellis Jackson, Portsmouth,VA; three sisters, Irene Gillespie, Lebanon, VA, Ruth Hale, Mavis Dale, VA, and Gaye Murphy, Manassas, VA; three grandchildren, Traci Stevens, Adam Trusty, and Leah Reis; two great grandchildren, Emma Stevens and Josh Stevens; special friend Joyce Millsap; and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, May 21, 2010 at 11:30 am at the Forest Hills Chapel of Farris Funeral Service, 19415 Lee Highway, Abingdon with Dr. Don Paxton and Rev. John Stapleton officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Hills Memory Gardens. The men of Rosedale Baptist Church and grandson, Adam Trusty will serve as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, May 20, 2010 from 6:00 pm-8:00 pm at the Forest Hills Chapel.
