Maynard Newton Miller, age 88, of Meadowview, Va., went to be with the Lord on Saturday, August 12, 2017, at Abingdon Health and Rehab Center. He was born December 17, 1928, to the late Graham Miller and Bertha Gobble Miller. He was a former employee of Bristol Bedding and harbored a great love of music, especially bluegrass gospel.
In addition to his parents, Maynard is also preceded in death by his wife of 44 years, Lucy Caudill Miller; son, Bobby Miller; daughter, Kathy Jean Miller; two sisters, Ruby Reynolds and Beulah Reynolds; and grandson, David Jasper “D.J.” Reynolds, II.
He is survived by two sons, Mike Miller of Bristol, Tenn. and Tim Miller and significant other, Kryssie Davis, of Meadowview, Va.; daughter, Peggy Younce and husband, Michael, of Meadowview, Va.; four grandchildren: Chad Miller and wife, Meghann; Bobby Miller and wife, Haili; Timmy Miller; and Lucy Miller; five great grandchildren, Megan Reynolds, Bellah Miller, Steven Miller, Kaleb Miller, and Harper Miller; great-great granddaughter, Kyleigh Reynolds; and five brothers: Sylvester Miller and wife, Geneva; Herman Miller; Ballard Miller and wife, Peggy; Willard Miller and wife, Lora Bell; and Wayford Miller and wife, Lois.
A graveside service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Monday, August 14, 2017, Knollkreg Memorial Park with Bro. Ballard Miller officiating. Pallbearers will be Mike Miller, Tim Miller, Michael Younce, Bobby Miller, Chad Miller, and Meghann Miller.
