Melissa Ann Owens

Melissa Ann Owens, 54, passed away Sunday, August 19, 2018. She was born June 6, 1964 in Ohio to the late Joe Keith and Elladean Kiser Keith. She was a former employee of Courier Express and Miners and Merchants Bank. Melissa enjoyed working on crafts, photography, lake life, and motorcycle riding. 

Besides her father Melissa was preceded in death by two brothers, Jackie and Tim Keith.

Melissa is survived by her mother, Elladean Keith of Abingdon; her son, Brandon McMurray and wife, Samantha of Abingdon; brothers, Bobby Keith of Bristol, Va. and Roger Keith of Abingdon; sisters, Virginia Heath and husband, Ray of Chilhowie, Va. and Carol Nunley and husband, Bruce of Marion, Va.; and one very special granddaughter, Jacie Paige McMurray of Abingdon; several nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews also survive. 

The funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, August 23, 2018 in the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service with Pastor Jim Lyttle and Ray Heath officiating. Burial will follow in Rush Creek Cemetery. Pallbearers will be family and friends. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, August 22, 2018 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the family to help with expenses.
