Michael Dean Nelson, age 41, passed away on Wednesday, September 4, 2013 at his home.

He was a native of Bristol, TN and graduated from Tennessee High School Class of 1990. He later received his Bachelors in Psychology from the University of Tennessee and was loyal UT football fan. He relocated to Plainfield, IN in October of 2012 with his wife, Heather.
He is survived by his loving wife of 12 years, Heather Stanley Nelson; and son, Mastin Lee Nelson born May 21, 2013 who was the joy of his life. Additionally, he is survived by his mother, Judy Nelson Miller and husband Jim of Bluff City, TN; father and mother-in-law, Freddie and Joan Stanley of Abingdon, VA; two aunts; and numerous cousins.
Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. - 12:50 p.m., Sunday, September 8, 2013 at the Forest Hills Chapel of Farris Funeral Service. A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Sunday at Forest Hills Memory Gardens with Pastor Johnny Mink officiating. Dave Morris will deliver the eulogy. Active pallbearers will be Brent Bowman, Anthony Brumitt, Danny Eastridge, Robbie Malone, Dave Morris, Jason McMurray, Doug Robinett, and David Worley. Honorary pallbearers will be and Freddie Stanley, Jack King, David Bays, Matt Musick, and Wayne Saul.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to the nurses and staff of Southern Care Hospice, Dr. Dropcho, Kristi Keller, Jack and Tina King, Reverend Ted Blosser, and the congregation of Plainfield United Methodist Church.
