Michael Lee Belcher

Meadowview, VA – Michael Lee “Mike” Belcher, age 69, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, October 24, 2021, at his home.  Mike was a 1970 graduate of Grundy Senior High School and Virginia Highlands Community College.  Mike above all loved his God, his family, and the church.  Mike was a very active member of Macedonia Church of Christ and served in several capacities including Elder and Sunday School teacher.  He was also proud to serve as a Professor of Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning at Virginia Highlands Community College. 

Mike was preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Lois Shortridge Belcher; first wife, Sandee Vance Belcher; and sister, Vikki Belcher Parsons. 

He is survived by his wife, Patricia Blevins Belcher; children, Sarah Belcher Smith and special son-in-law James Smith, Jodee (Bryan) Jessee, Richard (Elizabeth) Belcher, Billy (Heather) Wyatt, Rob (Angela) Belcher, Michael J. Belcher, and Jennifer Belcher; sister, Kim Belcher Anderson; ten grandchildren; and several close cousins. 

Visitation will be held from 6 p.m. - 8 p.m. Thursday, October 28, 2021, at Macedonia Church of Christ, 25350 Watauga Road, Abingdon, VA.  Funeral services will be conducted at the church at 11:00 a.m. Friday with Minister Ron Musick officiating.  Interment will follow in Forest Hills Memory Gardens with Bruce Olivo, James Smith, Tony Austin, Steve Counts, Richard Williams, and Rick Taylor serving as pallbearers.  The Men of Macedonia Church of Christ will serve as honorary pallbearers. 

The family would like to extend special thanks to Dr. Timothy Davis and all the nurses at the Johnston Memorial Cancer Center.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Macedonia Church of Christ, P.O. Box 1385, Abingdon, VA 24212, in Mike’s name.
