Michael Lewis Wood

Abingdon, VA – Mr. Michael Lewis Wood, age 63, passed away Thursday June 5, 2014 in the Bristol Regional Medical Center. Mike was born, raised, and lived in Coshocton, OH before moving to Abingdon 12 years ago. Mr. Wood was a U.S. Navy Veteran and served in Vietnam. During his time in Coshocton, he served as the Captain of the Coshocton Fire Dept. and as a Deputy Sheriff. Upon moving to Abingdon, he was employed as a security guard at Johnston Memorial Hospital. Mike is preceded in death by his parents, Lewis Garold Wood and Marjorie Elizabeth Wells, and brother, James Wood. He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Marsha Pack Wood; son, Chris Wood and wife Carrie of Indianapolis, IN; brother, Dennis Wood of Coshocton, OH; four sisters, Melody Walters, Linda Wright, Dorothy Dorsey, and Darlene Riggle, all of Coshocton, OH; and granddaughter, Alexis Wood.
