Michael R. Stanley, age 49, of Damascus, Va., passed away from natural causes on August 4, 2021. A 1990 graduate of Holston High School, Michael was a "die-hard" wrestling and NASCAR fan. He was funny in his own way and enjoyed playing pranks on his family members and friends, especially when they were good-natured and surprised them out nowhere. Even though Michael was a very private person, he loved the people he was close to. He adored his daughters and was caring in his own unique way. He was proud of his job at the Sam's Club Tire Department, where he worked for 14 years. Michael was a proud veteran of the United States Marine Corps.
Michael was preceded in death by his uncle, Bobby Stanley, and his grandfather, Bob Stanley.
Left to cherish his memory are his two daughters, Belle Stanley, Nikki Stanley and fiance, Rob Fite; mother, Betty Stanley Corvin; grandmother, Doris Neely; two sisters, Michelle Thomas and husband David, Martha "Meg" Holmes; two grandsons, Raleigh and Rhett Fite; one aunt, Patricia Neely; a niece, LeeAnn Worley and husband Matt; two nephews, DJ Thomas, and James Holmes; one great niece; one great nephew; several cousins, and many friends.
