Mildred B. McCormick Baker, 89, left the burdens of this life on Friday, July 15, 2011, in Abingdon VA.
Born August 28, 1922 in Gary, West Virginia, she was a daughter of the late Stuart S. and Garnet
Lee Terry McCormick. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Mrs. Baker was predeceased by her husband John William Baker in 2001, her parents, and eight
brothers and sisters.
She is survived by her son John William Jr. and his family; her son Ronald Lee and his family; her daughter Bonita Gayle and her family.
A graveside service will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday July 19, 2011 in the Garden of the
Commandments in Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Princeton, West Virginia with Rev. John E. Massey, Jr. officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Southwest Virginia, Grace Healthcare of Abingdon, or the charity of your choice in honor of Mrs. Baker.
The family would like to say a special thank you to Naomi and Theresa at Hospice of Southwest Virginia and Grace Healthcare of Abingdon for their kind and gentle care of our mother during her final days. Thank you to all of the staff of both facilities for your thoughts, prayers, and loving care of our mother.
