Mildred Farmer Turner

Mildred Farmer Turner, age 95, passed away on Friday, March 14, 2025 at NHC Health Care in Bristol, Virginia. She was born on August 27, 1929 in Washington County, Virginia to the late Steve and Mattie Farmer. She was a member of East Bristol Baptist Church where she participated in all church activities, especially Women's Missionary Union.

Mildred was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 58 years, Charles, who passed on February 19, 2025. She is also predeceased by her two brothers, Ronald Farmer and Earl Farmer, and her sister, Blanche Farmer Blalock. 

Mildred is survived by her nieces, Brenda Farmer (Mike) Somers and Greta Farmer (Jim) Rector, and other nieces and nephews.

Mildred's family will receive friends on Saturday, March 22 from 12:00 p.m. - 1:00 p.m. at the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service in Abingdon, Virginia. A funeral service will follow with Pastor Dan Birchfield and Pastor Peter Vanburg officiating. The committal service will follow at Knollkreg Memorial Park with Mike Somers, David Somers, Jim Rector and Caleb Rector serving as pallbearers.
