Mildred Virginia Crosswhite entered this world on October 10, 1946 and was welcomed home by her Savior on September 6, 2011, while surrounded by her family.

She was a very special, loving mother, grandmother, sister, and a friend to all. She touched so many lives by her faith and loving friendship while upon this earth. She will be sorely missed. Beautiful inside and out, she was a true virtuous woman who loved the Lord (Prov. 31:30). She served faithfully at Little Rock Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne Crosswhite; daughter, Patricia Crosswhite; parents, Monroe and Roxie Widner; and brothers, Paul Widner and Jack Widner.

Mildred is survived by daughters, Melissa Wix of the home and Wanda Lloyd and special son-in-law, Gary of Glade Spring. The pride and joy of her life her grandchildren, Matthew Lloyd and his wife, Leighann and Brittany Lloyd all of Glade Spring. Sisters, Mabel Widner of Galax, VA, Betty Ward of Asheville, NC, Lois Heath, Ruby Fields and her husband, Don, Shirley Widner, May DeBord and her husband Joe, and Faye Hoback and her husband, Richard all of Chilhowie. Brothers, Joe Widner and his wife Shirley, Earl Widner all of Glade Spring, Allen Widner and his wife Kim of Chilhowie and Bill Widner of Louisiana, a host of special nephews and nieces, extended family and her church family.

Services will be held 2:00 pm Saturday, September 10, 2011 at the Little Rock Baptist Church with Brother Buster Mullins and Brother Bradley Tilson officiating with a special word by grandson, Matthew Lloyd. The burial will follow at Rush Creek Cemetery, Chilhowie, VA. Pallbearers will be Jackie Widner, Jamie Wilkinson, Ken Crosswhite, John Walls, Rick Boyd and Byron Johnson. Honorary Pallbearers will be Eddie Widner, Joe Widner, Jr., and Bobby Doss. The family will receive friends Friday, September 9, 2011 from 6 to 8 pm at Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service, 427 East Main Street, Abingdon, VA.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Little Rock Baptist Church, 36242 Loves Mill Rd., Chilhowie, VA 24319.
