Molly Matney Rife

Molly Matney Rife, age 84, of Abingdon, Va., went to be with the Lord on Saturday, May 4, 2019, at her home.  She was born March 19, 1935, to the late John Matney and Lilah Justice Matney in McDowell County, W.Va.  She was a member of the Little Dove Old Regular Baptist Church in Guess Fork, Va.     

In addition to her parents, Molly was also preceded in death by her husband, Russell Henry Rife; and seven siblings. 

She is survived by her son, Terry Rife and wife, Sharon, of Abingdon, Va.; daughter, Donna Adkins and husband, Jerry, of Meadowview, Va.; brother, William Matney and wife, Arlene, of Union, W.Va.; five grandchildren: Jessica Cooke and husband, Ryan; Jason Adkins and wife, Samantha; Brittany Kell and husband, Sean; Melody Evans; and Jeremy Evans; eight great grandchildren, Caden Kell, Ethan Kell, Sylas Cooke, Samantha Evans, Faith Evans, Riley Pickle, Alex Blankenship, and Rhiana Blankenship; and special friend, Sandra Linkous. 

A funeral ceremony will be held on Wednesday, May 8, 2019, at 6:00 p.m. in the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service with Pastor Mike Sage officiating.  A committal service will be held on Thursday, May 9, 2019, at 1:00 p.m. at Rife Cemetery in Hurley, Va.  Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 4:00 p.m.-6:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
