Monroe Reynolds, age 80, of Meadowview, Va., went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, May 19, 2020, at Johnson City Medical Center. He retired from Advanced Auto and attended Shady Grove Holiness Church. Monroe was a longtime farmer.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph James Reynolds and Virginia Tignor Reynolds; son, Brian Keith Reynolds; and three siblings, Brinkley Reynolds, Thomas Reynolds, and Mary Vance.
Monroe is survived by his wife of 58 years, Mary Ellen Scyphers Reynolds; son, Monty Edward Reynolds of Meadowview, Va.; six siblings: Garnett Reynolds and wife, Ethel, of Bristol, Va.; Lee Reynolds of Winston-Salem, N.C.; Grady Reynolds and wife, Faye, of Trinity, N.C.; Ronnie Reynolds and wife, Marcia, of High Point, N.C.; Donnie Reynolds and wife, Sheila, of North Carolina; and Delephine Rogers and husband, Charles, of Abingdon, Va.; two grandchildren, Heather Shea Reynolds and Keith “George” Reynolds.
A private family service will be livestreamed on Sunday, May 24, 2020, at 2:00 p.m. Pastor David Robins and Pastor Fred Reynolds will officiate. The recorded livestream may be viewed by visiting the Tribute Wall for Mr. Reynolds' obituary. Interment will follow in Forest Hills Memory Gardens where Monroe’s brothers, as well as, Nathan Trivett and Charles Rogers will serve as pallbearers.
