Myrtle Fain Keith, age 69, passed away on Tuesday, September 25, 2012 at Grace Healthcare. She was a mother to 14 foster children and a member of Denton Valley Baptist Church. She was known in the community as a longtime Avon Sales Representative. She was active in the Green Spring Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary while her health permitted. During the summer she worked at Camp Sequoyah.
She was born to the late Burg Preston Montgomery and Mary Blevins Montgomery. She is also preceded in death by her husband, James Arthur Keith; one brother, Danville Montgomery; and two sisters, Bonnie Denton and Bertha Denton.
She is survived by one brother, Lewis Montgomery; and one sister, Georgia Widener, both of the Denton Valley Community; and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 26, 2012 at the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service with Reverend Paul Ketron, Pastor Junior Gobble, and Pastor Timothy Stevens officiating. Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Wednesday at the funeral home. A committal service will be held at 3:00 p.m., Thursday, September 27, 2012 at Montgomery Cemetery. Those wishing to attend are asked to convene by 2:45 p.m., Thursday at the cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Michael Helton, Carroll Howard, Ronnie Widener, Terry Vannoy, Bud Wright, Matthew Howard, Andrew Howard, and Larry Denton. Honorary pallbearers will be Hunter Howard, Scott Howard, Josh Brewer, Dean Denton, Paul Johnson, Michael Stevens, Louis Watson, Donnie Widener, Timmy Helton,June Lowe, and nephews. Nieces will serve as flower girls.
