Nancy Ethyl Louise Reynolds, age 83, of Abingdon, Va., joined her husband in Heaven on December 1, 2021. She was born on April 14, 1938 in Lebanon, Va., to the late Carl Gentry Mitchell and Julia Ethyl Kennedy Mitchell.
Nancy was an avid gardener, with an especially impressive collection of blue hydrangeas. She was famous for her homemade banana pudding, which would often cause rifts over who would get the biggest portion. Nancy was a lifelong caretaker for her family, who she served with endless love and compassion. Even with her predisposition to compassionate caretaking, Nancy was a spitfire which her family attributed to her mane of fire red hair. One of the sweetest blessings in Nancy’s life was the chance to care for her two great grandsons, Ashton and Roman Louthian.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Carl Blair Reynolds; and her son, David Anthony Reynolds.
Nancy is survived by her children; Joe Reynolds and his wife, Danielle; Mike Reynolds and his wife, Pam; Chris Reynolds and his wife, Sharon; Lisa Reynolds and her husband, Dale; Shannon Rose and her husband, Virgil; Sheenan Hyatt and her husband, Chris; her most special granddaughter, Auna Louthian and her husband, Shawn; several other grandchildren, great grandchildren, and many great-great grandchildren; and her furbabies and constant companions, Charlie Girl and Titan.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital by mailing a donation to 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105 or by visiting www.stjude.com/donate.
A cryptside service will be held on Sunday, December 5, 2021, at 2:00 P.M. in the Chapel of Memories Mausoleum of Forest Hills Memory Gardens.
