Nannie Elizabeth Cox

Nannie Elizabeth Cox, age 83, of Abingdon, Va., was reunited with her loved ones already in Heaven on Monday, November 8, 2021, at Accordius Health Care in Abingdon, Va. Born to the late William and Sarah Reynolds on March 27, 1938, Nannie was a kind and loving mother to her three sons. She was an avid bingo and casino enthusiast and a longtime member of First Church of God in Abingdon, Va.

In addition to her parents, Nannie is preceded in death by four brothers, Robert Reynolds, Billy Reynolds, Cecil Reynolds, and Ronald Reynolds; two sisters, Carolyn Oliver, and Mary Abballe.

Nannie is survived by her three sons, Timmy Cox, Tommy Cox, and Michael “Tony” Cox and his wife Robbins; five siblings, Volga Anderson, David Reynolds, Regina Reynolds, Cecilia Rierson, and Darlene Ramsay; three grandchildren, Kylie Morris-Cox, Mac Cox, and Clarissa Thompson.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, November 12, 2021, in the Sinking Spring Cemetery, Abingdon, Va., with Pastor Bob Neace officiating. James Holloway, Darrell Snodgrass, Bill Snodgrass, and Michael Cox, Jr. will serve as honorary pallbearers. A visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 11, 2021, at the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service.
